I am a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and I maintain a private practice in Placerville, California. I provide therapy for couples, children and their families, and individuals.
For many years I have worked in various roles as Therapist, Manager, Counselor and Coach. My work prior to opening a private practice has been primarily in non-profit agencies and schools, where I provided counseling and therapeutic services to couples, women, men, children (infants-high schoolers) and their families, college students, and survivors of sexual assault. I have worked to help people facing a broad range of issues, including: relationship issues, attachment disruption, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bullying, domestic violence, trauma, abuse, sexual assault, reproductive health decisions, divorce, single-parenthood, coming out, gender-identity, grief and loss, exploration of self and purpose, among others.
I am an interactive, strengths-based therapist. I work to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I use different therapeutic orientations based on the individual needs of my clients or couples, including (but not limited to) Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, Attachment Therapy (including Theraplay), Gottman Couples Therapy, Nurtured Heart Approach, Solution-Focused Therapy. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual, family or couple to help them build on their strengths and attain the goals they are committed to accomplishing.
I look forward to meeting you!
