In my work with children and families, I strive to help them find understanding and attachment in their relationships. I provide parenting support, reunification therapy, attachment therapy and help in addressing issues unique to adoptive families.
I conduct parenting classes focused on finding firmness, consistency and structure while also developing and sustaining a deeper emotional attunement and connection.
I help separating and/or divorced couples work together to find a co-parenting plan so that children have a better chance of finding consistency and not being "caught in the middle," as well as co-parenting therapy for separated/divorced couples in higher conflict. Through consistent therapy, estranged couples learn how to manage the emotional reactions related to the conflictual relationship with the other parent, while working toward a co-parenting relationship that supports the children's needs to have a strong connection with both parents.
I work with families to reunify when children are separated from one or both parents for extended periods of time. The reunification therapy is conducted in conjunction with the family court system.
As with adoptive families, attachment therapy is practiced when there has been a disruption in the early phases of the parent-child bond, and is a powerful way to connect families.
