I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, using interventions from many different therapeutic approaches, with the purpose of helping clients find their own intentions, resources and strengths. I work with all genders and age groups individually, in couples, in families.
I offer couples therapy using the Gottman method, an evidenced-based practice that offers couples a "relationship check-up." Using research and feedback from you and your partner, I help you both discover your potential for success or separation, and guide you with practices designed to correct or ease your path, whatever the goal.
I provide parent coaching and classes designed for all parents, but especially those with intense, difficult children. I guide parents in calming your home environment, and rescuing yourselves and your children from a freefall toward unrest and failure. Through intensive parental coaching, your families are led into a path of connectness and success.
I help separating and/or divorced couples work together to find a co-parenting plan so that children have a better chance of finding consistency and not being "caught in the middle," as well as co-parenting therapy for separated/divorced couples in higher conflict. Through consistent therapy, estranged couples learn how to manage the emotional reactions related to the conflictual relationship with the other parent, while working toward a co-parenting relationship that supports the children's needs to have a strong connection with both parents.
I provide reunification therapy for children who have been separated from a parent for an extended period of time. In this work, I work to rebuild and strengthen the attachment between the parent and the child/ren.
I am very committed to the unique issues of the LGBTQ community, whether you are considering coming out, seeking a safe environment to explore identity, working toward transition, or trying to understand and/or support a loved one who is LGBTQ-identified.
I work with individuals and couples who are exploring opening up their definition of relationship beyond monogamy, and help them consider implications for themselves and their loved ones.
I work with all genders to provide support and guidance regarding individual challenges. In addition, the issues women and trans individuals face are a specialized part of my practice.
I provide Trail Talk, or therapy while walking, which combines the benefits of exercise and talk therapy.
